The decent of the US from a global leader and power is prevalent in the attitudes that other nations are starting to take towards the US. No longer can the US rely on a superior army and the threat of a nuclear war as a means to get what it wants. However the US is still in this mindset, time and time again through foreign policy we still see the bullying that the US is so accustomed to doing. In the far reaches of the north western pacific there stands a man who has taken a strong stance and shaken his fist at the “almighty power” and what has smitten him. Nothing to say the least, it is clear that whatever the US is doing it is clearly not working. It has always been clear that with dealing with the US a sharp line drawn in the sand is sometimes the clearest way to survive as a free nation, instead of being misused by a useless power.
When we look at history the nations that have taken the harshest stance towards the US always seem to grab its full attention. Sometimes the tensions rose to a high where a staring contest was no longer necessary and the troops were called in. It was here that we clearly see that the US always seems to pick a fight with a weaker nation. Take the Spanish-American War for example, we have Spain a nation that is already crippled having lost much in the last half century and what do we see? We see the US come and kick Spain whilst it has already given up. Same goes for the Mexican-American War where we see a poor country in Mexico try and come into its own while the US is breathing down its back about some crazy idea of a “Manifest Destiny”.
Over the last century however the US has started to pick wars that end badly, starting with the war that the US fought against the Pilipino people as soon as its war with Spain was concluded. Then the US seemingly obsessed with containment picked two horrifically unsuccessful wars to fight, one in Korea and the other to the South in Indochina. After the second war (Vietnam War) it seemed as though the US has learned its lesson, about attacking countries on baseless premises. However this only lasted for thirty years as the US was in Iraq now trying to send a message to other countries who talk badly about the US.
What we have seen since the last war is a significant decrease in not only popularity but support for the US. Countries are tired of being bullied into doing things that they are strongly against. Hopefully with this coming generation the US can finally learn its lesson.

GUESS WHAT
Barack Obama after a long and tenuous campaing was able to pull out a win against John McCain. I do not know what people expect after just a third of a year but it is a lot. He is not only expected to fix the budget deficiet he is also expected to pay off the entire national debt some 11 trillion worth. Why is the United States in debt one may ask the anwser is simple, he was a president who has his own era named after him the Regan Era. That's Right!!! Regan was in perfect position to single handedly destroy the US, how did he do it? He did it buy significantly increasing the US defence spending to equal those of the Soveit Union. If that out of control spending were allowed to conitnue the US would collpase and out of the ashes would rise a Communist governtment, the United States arch enemy

Election
The up coming election is going to be big, it will shape Americas future. One seeks to destroy the nation by waging war in far off lands that should have little appeal for the U.S. While the other seeks to repair this nation, by pulling out of one of the two wars. We can not stand to wage a war that needs not to be waged. We must change.

Who Knows
Who knows anything anymore, I know i don't. So young in such a large world i look to the path i have ahead. I can see only so far before it dips off into the dark, but i still walk and even though i am tempted with bad i still strive to do good.
